Inaugural event raised funds and awareness for colon cancer prevention and treatment.
INDIANAPOLIS – Over the weekend, Riverview Health’s first Drive2Detect event raised more than $63,000 for colon cancer detection and post-diagnosis support. In partnership with the CheckIt4Andretti Foundation, the event took place on Saturday at the Motor District Garage Condos in Westfield.
“The support we saw at the first-ever Drive2Detect was incredible,” said Dave Hyatt, CEO of Riverview Health. “The evening reflected that our community shares our commitment to preventing and treating colon cancer. We’re proud to honor John Andretti in such a meaningful way, and we look forward to continuing this mission alongside the CheckIt4Andretti Foundation."
Drive2Detect is a result of Riverview Health’s partnership with the CheckIt4Andretti Foundation and was centered around raising awareness and funds for colon cancer. The theme for the night was motor sports and included exotic cars, tours of garages, food from local restaurants and live music. There was a raffle and an auction that included luxury items, high-end experiences and motor sports memorabilia. The auction raised over $63,000 for colon cancer screenings for members in the community.
“This event not only honored my father’s legacy but also made a real impact in the fight against colon cancer,” said Director of CheckIt4Andretti, Jarett Andretti. “Riverview Health and CheckIt4Andretti are committed to continuing to spread awareness and providing resources to aid in the early detection of colon cancer.”
CheckIt4Andretti focuses on delivering colonoscopies to high-risk, low-income patients. Riverview Health is committed to early detection of colon cancer through its recently announced Endoscopy Center in its Westfield Hospital.
Drive2Detect is made possible because of support from title sponsors Unlimited Motors, Centier Bank and SIHO Insurance Services and the following sponsors: Exos, AbbVie Inc., Hancock Health, Johnson & Johnson, FUJIFILM and Hirons.
