Riverview Health Rehab & Fitness to Offer Sports Physicals for Student-Athletes

April 8, 2016

Riverview Health Rehab & Fitness will offer physical examinations performed by a licensed medical doctor for student-athletes (grades 6-12) on the following dates and times:

  • Noblesville Schools: April 27, 5:30-8 pm
  • Westfield Schools: May 4, 5:30-8 pm
  • Sheridan Schools: May 23, 5:30-8 pm

Registration is required and the cost is $25. Each half-hour time slot is limited to 30 students, and sports physicals will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. The location for these physicals will vary depending on the school the student-athlete attends.

For more information or to register online, please visit riverview.org/physicals. Please print receipt and bring it to the screening as proof-of-payment. You may also register and pay for your physical exam onsite. Cash or check will be accepted. Please make checks payable to Riverview Health.

In order for a student athlete to be eligible for any sport, a completed sports physical form must be returned to the appropriate athletic office prior to the first practice. The examination must take place—and the doctor’s signature must be dated—after April 1, 2016.

In addition, Riverview Health is offering an optional cardiac screening for student-athletes. This screening evaluates the potential risk of sudden death from cardiac-related abnormalities. The test consists of an electrocardiogram and an echocardiogram, and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. This screening is offered at a cost of $30. This screening is available at Riverview Health Heart & Vascular. Please call Riverview Health Central Scheduling at 317.776.7247 to make an appointment.
