Riverview Health Foundation Women of Giving Club Raises Nearly $40,000

July 15, 2020

Riverview Health Foundation announced it has awarded money raised totaling nearly $40,000 to areas and programs at Riverview Health that support the health and wellness of women and children throughout the community. This includes:

  • Breast cancer programs
  • Maternity programs that provide car seats to new parents and funding for a milk bank supporting moms needing breastmilk
  • Cardiovascular programs
  • Rehab and fitness programs
  • Women’s Boutique products that help cancer, maternity and lymphedema patients
  • Touch of Love program led by all volunteers who provide handmade blankets and items to newborn babies and cancer patients

“We typically present these grants at the annual Women of Vision of Luncheon where the theme is all about inspiring and empowering both women and men,” said Megan Wiles, executive director of Riverview Health Foundation. “Due to the Coronavirus we’ve had to switch things up a little and make it a virtual event, but we have every intention to make it just as impactful this year using a slightly different format.”

Riverview Health Foundation will hold the virtual event Lunch at your Place with Minda Dentler on Thursday, Aug. 27 from 12-1 p.m. As the first female wheelchair athlete to complete the Ironman World Championship after being paralyzed from the hips down by polio, Minda will share her amazing journey to accomplishing what she was told would be impossible.
