Riverview Health Partners with Westfield and Noblesville Schools to Promote Health and Activity Among Children

September 5, 2014

Riverview Health is excited to promote healthy life choices among our younger generation in Hamilton County. Partnering with Westfield and Noblesville Schools, Riverview Health will participate in school events dedicated to health and wellness. Healthy Schools Week for Noblesville Schools is September 15-September 19, and Healthy Living Week for Westfield Schools is September 8-September 12.

“Helping children and teens learn about healthy choices now is a great opportunity to set positive patterns and habits for physical and mental wellness for years to come as they mature into adulthood and beyond,” said Kristin Lamb, Wellness Coordinator at Riverview Health. “The hands-on learning aspect shows the students that fitness and health is fun, too.”

Riverview Health will provide demonstrations and activities for students at Noblesville East Middle School and Maple Glen Elementary in Westfield about making the right choices to improve their health and wellness, including everything from fitness activities to nutrition tips to skincare advice.

Also in conjunction with Noblesville Healthy Schools Week, Riverview Health Foundation and Project Fit America joined together again to deliver advanced outdoor and indoor fitness equipment, curriculum materials and teacher training to three Noblesville elementary schools to encourage health and activity among students. Together, they will host fun-filled kick-off events at the schools on September 17, 2014:

  • 9:00 am – Hazel Dell Elementary, 3025 Westfield Road
  • 10:30 am – North Elementary, 440 North 10th Street
  • 1:30 pm – Hinkle Creek Elementary, 595 South Harbour Drive

Mayor John Ditslear of Noblesville and Pat Fox, Riverview Health CEO, will be in attendance. Students, teachers and guests will enjoy a fitness demonstration on the new Project Fit equipment. All are welcome to attend. An RSVP is not required.
